HealthWatch Features and Benefits

It is useful to compare your child's height to other children of the same age. The best way to do this is to use the official growth charts of the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Your doctor can show you the growth chart for your child but having your own record is even better!

Who is this for?
• The parent who wants to take an active part in their child's growth and development
• The pediatrician who wants to track all her patients in the same place and provide both individual and global reports
• The school district health professional who wants to track and report on child health
• The research investigator

The Main Interface

The innovative interface of HealthWatch presents in a single screen all the information you need. From this screen, you can create a record for a new child, make new entries for an existing record, and navigate to all the available charts and graph the software provides.
Your child's height and weight are generally described in terms of percentiles. This indicates what percentage of children the same age and gender are likely to be smaller (or larger) than your child. Percentiles are shown with curved lines on the charts; the middle line is the 50th percentile—meaning that half of all children will be above the line and half will be below.
The black dots on the charts indicate where your child is compared to others. If your child follows the middle curve, she is of average height and weight. Children can be perfectly healthy even if they don't follow the 50th percentile curve. Whatever the percentile, following the shape of the curves is a better indication of healthy growth.
